About me....
I have a genuine passion for consumer rights and believe that everyone has the right to be treated fairly by the businesses and organisations they deal with.

Consumers should be given clear information to help them make choices about the products and services they use. They should be protected against unsafe and unfair practices. And, when things go wrong, they should have the help they need to get things put right.

Freelance work....
I became a freelance writer/researcher in 2006. Since then I have worked with a wide range of clients writing magazine articles, web content and other consumer-facing literature. I have managed research studies and produced reports for a number of consumer and public interest organisations. For examples of my work please click here.

I provide ongoing consultancy to BSI and ANEC. I am co-ordinator of the Services team within the Consumer & Public Interest Network at BSI. I am also the chair of the Services Working Group at ANEC. Both of these roles involve advising on consumer issues and working
to ensure that the consumer voice is heard in the development of standards.

Life before freelancing....
I spent six years at Which? as a project leader/senior researcher in the Services group managing project teams and writing articles for publication in Which? magazine.

Prior to this I worked closely with Jan Walsh (three times voted 'Consumer Journalist of the Year') managing the research division of Consumer Analysis Ltd. This involved running surveys and writing reports for clients such as Nestle and Cable and Wireless (now Virgin Media).

Before starting my career I spent two years travelling independently in South America, China, India and Southeast Asia.

I studied at Middlesex University in London and have a 2:1 honours degree in Geography and Media Studies. I achieved firsts in 'Qualitative Research Methods', 'Quantitative Research Methods' and my Individual Research Project (8,000 word dissertation). I have 4 'A' Levels and 10 GSCEs.

Investigating consumer problems, and helping to resolve them by giving advice, raising awareness or campaigning for change, is something that I genuinely love to do.
